Winemaker, Angelina Yañez, produces this Gran Reserva 100% Malbec from the Vineyard Matilde, in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, with over 7,200 plants per. The traditional flood irrigation system is used in the Maltilde vineyards, whose vines date back to 1929, and which grow in sandy loamy soil, roots often extending to over 90 feet. Three plants are needed to produce one bottle of this excellently-structured Malbec.
Grapes are handpicked carefully in April, before undergoing cold maceration for five days, at 7°c, with alcoholic fermentation taking place in concrete eggs, with native yeasts at temperatures between 26° to 28 °c for a further 26 days, with two daily stomps. Malolactic fermentation is 100% spontaneous in 60% new French oak and 40% second use French oak barrels. The wine is then aged for a further 18 months in 60% new French oak barrels and 40% second-use French oak barrels, before being bottled in January. This Malbec has not been clarified, filtered, nor cold stabilized.
Tasting Notes
On the nose you will find aromas of dried blueberries, grilled plums, walnuts, mocha and charred bark. A medium-to-full bodied Malbec with firm, fine tannins, excellent structure and a well-integrated, toasty edge, leading to a fresh finish.
Our delivery charges are based on the number of bottles in your order, and each case can hold 12 x 75cl bottles as shown in the table below smaller and larger bottles are pro rata. We do not have a minimum order requirement.
Subject to stock availability and successful payment authorisation, we aim to despatch your order the next working day after you place your order. Our Standard Delivery is a next day service for most of the mainland UK from date of despatch, and The Highlands and Islands areas are on a 2-3 day service normally. As most orders are delivered via our chosen courier company, we cannot offer guaranteed delivery times, however the vast majority of orders placed arrive on the next working day. During busy periods these delivery times may extend. IF YOUR ORDER IS TIME CRITICAL PLEASE RING THE OFFICE TO GET MORE UP TO DATE INFORMATION ON CURRENT DELIVERY TIME SCALES, AND WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, BUT PLEASE NOTE WE ARE COURIER DEPENDENT ONCE THE ORDER LEAVES US, SO WE CANNOT ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE A DELIVERY DATE.
We are able to hold your order if you would like to organise a day when you are going to be in, to do this just indicate it in the notes box provided in the delivery area of the order process. Please add any other specific delivery requirements in the same box and we will do our best to ensure they are followed, or alternatively call us on 01472 852118 and we will do our best to help you. Our chosen Couriers deliver Monday to Friday between 8.00 am & 6.00 pm.

Please note that all our consignments normally REQUIRE A SIGNATURE on receipt. We will NOT be able to leave your order without someone taking the order in, we cannot leave your order unattended in a porch or garage etc., unless we get written confirmation from you that this is acceptable and that you will take full responsibilty if the parcel goes missing. However we are able to leave it with a neighbour or at an alternative address where they can take the goods in, please indicate this in the box for notes on the delivery page of the order process, if this is a requirement. If no-one answers the door, the address will be carded in the normal manner you should contact the courier or us to get the delivery rescheduled.
Orders under £30 in value will incur a small order £10 carriage charge to standard none surcharged UK delivery areas.
