From the La Maltilde Vineyard, located in, Agrelo, Lujan de Cuyo, planted in 1929, comes this limited edition (4,900 bottles) 100% Malbec from winemaker, Angelina Yañez, that has not been clarified, filtered, nor cold stabilized.
Vines grow at an altitude of 1000 masl and are maintained using the traditional flood irrigation system, where roots can grow up to 90ft in the sandy, loamy soil. The grapes are harvested during March, with cold maceration taking place for five days, at temperatures of 6°c. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out with autochthonous yeasts for 28 days, at temperatures of around 28° to 30°, and daily stamping in open-lidded French oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation is 100% spontaneous in new French barrels, with battonage every seven days, for 25 days, at a temperature of 18°c. Further aged for 24 months in new French oak barrels, before bottling in June 2017..
Tasting Notes
On the nose, black cherry, currant, dark chocolate and sandalwood aromas. It is medium-to full-bodied with velvety tannins. Smooth, concentrated and still fresh.
Our delivery charges are based on the number of bottles in your order, and each case can hold 12 x 75cl bottles as shown in the table below smaller and larger bottles are pro rata. We do not have a minimum order requirement.
Subject to stock availability and successful payment authorisation, we aim to despatch your order the next working day after you place your order. Our Standard Delivery is a next day service for most of the mainland UK from date of despatch, and The Highlands and Islands areas are on a 2-3 day service normally. As most orders are delivered via our chosen courier company, we cannot offer guaranteed delivery times, however the vast majority of orders placed arrive on the next working day. During busy periods these delivery times may extend. IF YOUR ORDER IS TIME CRITICAL PLEASE RING THE OFFICE TO GET MORE UP TO DATE INFORMATION ON CURRENT DELIVERY TIME SCALES, AND WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, BUT PLEASE NOTE WE ARE COURIER DEPENDENT ONCE THE ORDER LEAVES US, SO WE CANNOT ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE A DELIVERY DATE.
We are able to hold your order if you would like to organise a day when you are going to be in, to do this just indicate it in the notes box provided in the delivery area of the order process. Please add any other specific delivery requirements in the same box and we will do our best to ensure they are followed, or alternatively call us on 01472 852118 and we will do our best to help you. Our chosen Couriers deliver Monday to Friday between 8.00 am & 6.00 pm.
Please note it is not possible to specify a timed delivery, without incurring additional delivery charges, if this something you require please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Please note that all our consignments normally REQUIRE A SIGNATURE on receipt. We will NOT be able to leave your order without someone taking the order in, we cannot leave your order unattended in a porch or garage etc., unless we get written confirmation from you that this is acceptable and that you will take full responsibilty if the parcel goes missing. However we are able to leave it with a neighbour or at an alternative address where they can take the goods in, please indicate this in the box for notes on the delivery page of the order process, if this is a requirement. If no-one answers the door, the address will be carded in the normal manner you should contact the courier or us to get the delivery rescheduled.
Orders under £30 in value will incur a small order £10 carriage charge to standard none surcharged UK delivery areas.
