Domaine Hamelin dates back to 1840, over seven generations, with Thierry and his son, Charles, contining the family-run Domaine today. They continue to follow the Chablis winemaking traditions, handed down over the generations. Today, the vineyards are to be found in three different villages: Poinchy, Beines and Lignorelles, with the winery and Vat room situated in Lignorelles.
The knowledge, handed down from generation to generation, is a harmonious mix of old traditions and modern-day techniques. Their focus, and the main feature of their Chablis wines, is to retain the flavour of the ‘terroir’, and at the same time produce wines that are both generous and charming in style. A well-controlled and thermo-regulated winemaking process is essential. With their own bottling facility, they are able to control when the wine is bottled, at the optimum moment, when the wine is at its most expressive.
