This dry, balanced and perfumed Syrah is a smooth, sophisticated expression of Shiraz and the cool hillsides of the Yarra Valley are perfect for making this intriguing style. Generous in fruit but restrained in oak, subtly perfumed and tantalising spicy, it is made to be savoured.
Produced from a number of vineyards that span the Yarra, from Paul`s Range, at Dixons Creek, in the north, across to Bastard Hill, in the very cool, southern Upper Yarra. These vineyards were chosen in particular for their high diurnal temperature range, resulting in wines with high natural acidity and low pH. Yields are less than seven tonnes per hectare.
Predominantly handpicked Yarra Valley fruit from both upper and lower vineyards, with harvesting taking place in March. The juice was cold soaked for two days, followed by seven days on the skins, with 20% whole bunches used to bring the perfume out of the fruit. The wine was then matured for 10 months in French oak, 10% of which was new, with natural malolactic fermentation occurring with no fining.
Smells of:
White pepper, redcurrant, and raspberry.
Tastes like:
Cherry compote, loganberry, spice and soft tannins.
Goes with:
Braised beef cheek, spicy pork pizza, hard cheeses, dark chocolate and dangerous ideas!!
Our delivery charges are based on the number of bottles in your order, and each case can hold 12 x 75cl bottles as shown in the table below smaller and larger bottles are pro rata. We do not have a minimum order requirement.
Subject to stock availability and successful payment authorisation, we aim to despatch your order the next working day after you place your order. Our Standard Delivery is a next day service for most of the mainland UK from date of despatch, and The Highlands and Islands areas are on a 2-3 day service normally. As most orders are delivered via our chosen courier company, we cannot offer guaranteed delivery times, however the vast majority of orders placed arrive on the next working day. During busy periods these delivery times may extend. IF YOUR ORDER IS TIME CRITICAL PLEASE RING THE OFFICE TO GET MORE UP TO DATE INFORMATION ON CURRENT DELIVERY TIME SCALES, AND WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, BUT PLEASE NOTE WE ARE COURIER DEPENDENT ONCE THE ORDER LEAVES US, SO WE CANNOT ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE A DELIVERY DATE.
We are able to hold your order if you would like to organise a day when you are going to be in, to do this just indicate it in the notes box provided in the delivery area of the order process. Please add any other specific delivery requirements in the same box and we will do our best to ensure they are followed, or alternatively call us on 01472 852118 and we will do our best to help you. Our chosen Couriers deliver Monday to Friday between 8.00 am & 6.00 pm.
Please note it is not possible to specify a timed delivery, without incurring additional delivery charges, if this something you require please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Please note that all our consignments normally REQUIRE A SIGNATURE on receipt. We will NOT be able to leave your order without someone taking the order in, we cannot leave your order unattended in a porch or garage etc., unless we get written confirmation from you that this is acceptable and that you will take full responsibilty if the parcel goes missing. However we are able to leave it with a neighbour or at an alternative address where they can take the goods in, please indicate this in the box for notes on the delivery page of the order process, if this is a requirement. If no-one answers the door, the address will be carded in the normal manner you should contact the courier or us to get the delivery rescheduled.
Orders under £30 in value will incur a small order £10 carriage charge to standard none surcharged UK delivery areas.
