KRUG 2008 IN ESSENCE:
Krug 2008 is the elegant and intense story of a cool and balanced year, nicknamed “Classic Beauty” by the House’s Tasting Committee members. For Krug, the year 2008 gave birth to a great classic Krug Champagne balancing structured freshness and diverse flavours. Krug 2008 exhibits both power and elegance with a textured and intense mouthfeel very characteristic of the year’s wines, which uniquely reconciled intensity and quality. ? For the final blend, the selected wines were those best exhibiting the structure and complexity of 2008. Pinot Noir plots’ wines (53%) constitute over half of the blend and come primarily from emblematic plots in the Montagne de Reims Sud including A˙, Mareuil, Bouzy and Ambonnay. Meunier plots’ wines (25%) bring tension and citrus, while aromatic Chardonnay plots’ wines (22%) imbue the blend with fruit. The extraordinary profile of Krug 2008 comes after 12 years in the cellars, gaining in expression, harmony and finesse.
Tasting Notes
At first sight, an intense and brilliant golden hue.? An expressive nose that is rich and ample with patinated aromas of honey, liquorice, menthol, orange peel and grapefruit. Vivacious, intense and harmonious with great tension on the palate, expressing notes of quince, candied fruits and citrus, yellow kiwi, star fruit, honey, apple tart, butter cookies, orange peel, peony and fennel, with floral and menthol undertones. It has a long, balanced and precise finish with astounding structure.
Our delivery charges are based on the number of bottles in your order, and each case can hold 12 x 75cl bottles as shown in the table below smaller and larger bottles are pro rata. We do not have a minimum order requirement.
Subject to stock availability and successful payment authorisation, we aim to despatch your order the next working day after you place your order. Our Standard Delivery is a next day service for most of the mainland UK from date of despatch, and The Highlands and Islands areas are on a 2-3 day service normally. As most orders are delivered via our chosen courier company, we cannot offer guaranteed delivery times, however the vast majority of orders placed arrive on the next working day. During busy periods these delivery times may extend. IF YOUR ORDER IS TIME CRITICAL PLEASE RING THE OFFICE TO GET MORE UP TO DATE INFORMATION ON CURRENT DELIVERY TIME SCALES, AND WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, BUT PLEASE NOTE WE ARE COURIER DEPENDENT ONCE THE ORDER LEAVES US, SO WE CANNOT ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE A DELIVERY DATE.
We are able to hold your order if you would like to organise a day when you are going to be in, to do this just indicate it in the notes box provided in the delivery area of the order process. Please add any other specific delivery requirements in the same box and we will do our best to ensure they are followed, or alternatively call us on 01472 852118 and we will do our best to help you. Our chosen Couriers deliver Monday to Friday between 8.00 am & 6.00 pm.
Please note it is not possible to specify a timed delivery, without incurring additional delivery charges, if this something you require please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Please note that all our consignments normally REQUIRE A SIGNATURE on receipt. We will NOT be able to leave your order without someone taking the order in, we cannot leave your order unattended in a porch or garage etc., unless we get written confirmation from you that this is acceptable and that you will take full responsibilty if the parcel goes missing. However we are able to leave it with a neighbour or at an alternative address where they can take the goods in, please indicate this in the box for notes on the delivery page of the order process, if this is a requirement. If no-one answers the door, the address will be carded in the normal manner you should contact the courier or us to get the delivery rescheduled.
Orders under £30 in value will incur a small order £10 carriage charge to standard none surcharged UK delivery areas.
