Innocent Bystander Winery

One of the most diverse, well-known wine-producing regions in Australia is Victoria, producing some of the best wines in the country and home to 800 wineries, each with their own unique characteristics and wine styles. Yarra Valley is one of the most prominent wine regions, located an hour’s drive from Melbourne and is home to Innocent Bystander, part of the Brown Brothers Family of wine makers. With mountains on both sides, lush greenery, rolling hills and a cool climate it is it ideal for growing a wide range of grape varieties, that produce some of Australia’s most refined and elegant wines with higher acidity levels, giving them a bright, refreshing taste.

Innocent Bystander is born from an audacious spirit, the love child of a brewer-turned-winemaker with a natural curiosity and disregard for convention, and have a simple mantra: make wines they love to drink and share, without the fuss and pretence. After all, they believe seriousness is for suits, and you don't see much of that where they come from! Instead, their winemakers show the duality of Innocent Bystander: one alchemist and one tinkering craftsman, each guilty in the crime of passion, passion for creating bright, young, approachable wines that are best paired with people, from their flagship Pinot Noir to lip-smacking Moscato.
