From the border at the gateway to the East, the land of Puglia gives uniqueness, character and complexity to the oldest grapes of Southern Italy. Neprica wines are children of its territory and Tormaresca expresses them with elegance, harmony and pleasantness.
Viticulture in Apulia is history and at the same time innovation and the Tormaresca estate is the expression of these two spirits. Character, personality, and the potential for high quality are the characteristics that the Apulian territory imparts to all varieties grown here, indigenous or not. The Antinori family started investing in the area in 1998, as they believed that this is one of the most promising regions in Italy for producing top-quality wines with a strong territorial identity.
Vinification and aging
The grapes are destemmed, crushed, and transferred into stainless steel tanks, where alcoholic fermentation takes place over a period of eight-to-10 days, at a controlled temperature of approximately 26 °C (79 °F). Malolactic fermentation is completed by the beginning of winter. NePriCa Primitivo is further aged in stainless steel tanks, for approximately eight months.
Tasting notes:
NePriCa Primitivo is an intense ruby-red colour with purple hues. The nose delivers dominant notes of red fruit, black cherries, raspberries and mixed berries, together with delicate floral hints of violets and roses. The palate is supple, sustained by excellent freshness and sapidity and closes with a pleasant fruity finish.
Our delivery charges are based on the number of bottles in your order, and each case can hold 12 x 75cl bottles as shown in the table below smaller and larger bottles are pro rata. We do not have a minimum order requirement.
Subject to stock availability and successful payment authorisation, we aim to despatch your order the next working day after you place your order. Our Standard Delivery is a next day service for most of the mainland UK from date of despatch, and The Highlands and Islands areas are on a 2-3 day service normally. As most orders are delivered via our chosen courier company, we cannot offer guaranteed delivery times, however the vast majority of orders placed arrive on the next working day. During busy periods these delivery times may extend. IF YOUR ORDER IS TIME CRITICAL PLEASE RING THE OFFICE TO GET MORE UP TO DATE INFORMATION ON CURRENT DELIVERY TIME SCALES, AND WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, BUT PLEASE NOTE WE ARE COURIER DEPENDENT ONCE THE ORDER LEAVES US, SO WE CANNOT ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE A DELIVERY DATE.
We are able to hold your order if you would like to organise a day when you are going to be in, to do this just indicate it in the notes box provided in the delivery area of the order process. Please add any other specific delivery requirements in the same box and we will do our best to ensure they are followed, or alternatively call us on 01472 852118 and we will do our best to help you. Our chosen Couriers deliver Monday to Friday between 8.00 am & 6.00 pm.
Please note it is not possible to specify a timed delivery, without incurring additional delivery charges, if this something you require please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Please note that all our consignments normally REQUIRE A SIGNATURE on receipt. We will NOT be able to leave your order without someone taking the order in, we cannot leave your order unattended in a porch or garage etc., unless we get written confirmation from you that this is acceptable and that you will take full responsibilty if the parcel goes missing. However we are able to leave it with a neighbour or at an alternative address where they can take the goods in, please indicate this in the box for notes on the delivery page of the order process, if this is a requirement. If no-one answers the door, the address will be carded in the normal manner you should contact the courier or us to get the delivery rescheduled.
Orders under £30 in value will incur a small order £10 carriage charge to standard none surcharged UK delivery areas.
